This is now my poker blog
Which I’m sure will be absolutely fantastic. (My normal blog has migrated to rosyatrandom.livejournal.com)
Well, let’s make this a proper first post.
I’ve been playing poker about a couple of years now, at low stakes. I used to pretty much play SNG’s eclusively, but have got into cash games lately. I’ve just got Poker Tracker and PA HUD, which I expect to improve my game enormously. My biggest win so far is from winning a $3 MTT about a year ago, which got me about $900. Total winnings so far are a little over £1,000, I think.
Anyway, I withdrew all but $50 for Xmas/New Year, as I was broke. Since then I’ve kept getting it to between $100-150 before dropping down back a bit, usually as the result of a session on tilt.
I play on PokerStars as CptnAdequate, currently on the 5c/10c 6-seater ring games
Current bankroll: $201.87
And here’s my graph for 6-seat 5c/10c since November:

I tried playing 10NL for a bit while bonus clearing on FTP (seemed to clear things faster than STT’s), but just got bored of nut peddling and set mining (although I was playing full ring). I think in terms of hourly rate you could do better playing $4/180’s or turbo STT’s, at least until you get up to where you can play 25NL. It’s ridiculously easy just to 4-table $6.50 STT’s and wait for people to give you money.
If you’re playing 10NL cash on Stars you’re probably not getting much in terms of FPP’s either (IIRC it takes a $20 pot to generate one, so you’ll only get any if someone stacks someone else), so you’re missing out on rakeback and bonuses, which is just free money.

I tend to find that ring games feel like work, and tournaments like play. I suppose once I get to $250 and can play 25NL, I could switch sites and bonus whore. Where’s good for that at the moment?
